They will first dance a number on SHAKTI (6 GIRLS)
This will entail the attributes of MAHAKALI, Goddess of Power, who is the Raudric or Enraged form of Goddess Parvati. She is aroused when the demonic forces are overpowering and she appears in the form of MAHISHASURA MARDINI. The young ladies, six of them, dancing this item will form patterns and poses that will covet the audience members.
The second item is a VARNAM (6 GIRLS, most of them adults, couple of young girls)
This will speak of the illusory force of this universe, MAYA. It will speak of Prakriti and Purusha (as in the Tandava or Shiva and Lasya of Parvati) and how she has coveted the heart of the Lord of the universe, the destroyer of Tripura, and has become a part of him as ARDHA NAREESHWARI. An enchanting number in which we see the alluring Goddess in various poses of beauty and multiplicity. She is the one who creates an illusion of forms, shapes, colors in the universe.
